After careful review of several calorie shifting diet plans, I chose Fat Loss 4 Idiots as the best overall. Here are my reasons for choosing this one over the others:

  • One-time low payment for Lifelong membership
  • The Online Diet Generator allows you to customize your menus
  • You don’t have to count calories or measure servings
  • Rigorous, boring exercise routines are not necessary
  • You get 3 days off after each 11 day cycle to eat whatever you want!
  • You don’t have to eliminate entire food groups like with some diets
  • A vegetarian plan is available
  • E-book “Beyond Calories” is available for even faster fat loss

Some of the other calorie shifting plans that I researched had monthly fees and were hard to navigate, and it was hard to figure out exactly what to do. Others had very rigid rules and regimens, and you still had to count calories and measure servings. One was very vague about exactly what to eat, and when.

I found Fat Loss 4 Idiots to be well designed for simplicity, clarity, and versatility. Since the plan is based on alternating food groups, the menus allow for substitutions to better suit your personal tastes. For example, if a certain day’s menu call for macadamia nuts and you don’t like them, you can substitute cashews or walnuts, etc. As long as the substitution falls within the food group.  Another example is garbanzo beans. If they aren’t available in your area, Great Northern beans or red beans will serve just as well.

The daily menus are provided for you, so all you have to do is go to the grocery store. And you don’t have to go hungry. You eat 4 times per day, and eat until you are satisfied, but not overstuffed. This is the trickiest part, determining how much to eat so that you don’t starve before the next meal. But another good thing about this calorie shifting diet plan is that it is very forgiving. Even if you overfill occasionally, you will still burn fat, just not as much as you would have had you eaten less.

The Fat Loss 4 Idiots calorie shifting plan provides good general nutrition, but if you are fighting high cholesterol or have other special dietary needs, it may not be the best solution for your weight loss problem. You should check with your doctor before making any significant change to your diet.
